DOMINIQUE

I have currently been working at Blue Oak Veterinary Hospital as a kennel assistant for 5 months.  I love working here because I get to take care of the animals, and my co-workers are all so nice.  To further my education I'm taking on-line classes for veterinary assistance.  I also plan on taking classes to become a Registered Veterinary Technician in the future.  At home I have 5 horses, 3 dogs, and 4 cats.  I love horseback riding, wake boarding, music and movies.  So you can see I love animals very much, also I've made some really good friends during my time here.  I couldn't ask for a better career.

JENNIFER

Having recently moved back into the area I applied for the position here 6 months ago and now work as a veterinary technician.  I've worked in the veterinary field for 12 years with on the job training, online continuing education and veterinary conferences.  Everyone here has accepted me into what I feel like is a large family.  The animals are the #1 reason I got into this field.  I have 2 dogs, 2cats, and 2 horses at home along with a husband and a 5 year old so I stay pretty busy.  In my spare time I like to waterski, jog and do a lot of other outdoor activities.

HALEY

I started here back in November of 07 during my rotation for school.  I graduated with my associates of science and was hired on in January 08.  Now that I'm finished with school I am now working full time as a veterinary technician.  I love my co-workers and all the patients that we see.  Everyone is so helpful with teaching me new things and answering all my questions.  My favorite part about the hospital is all of our house cats they definitely give this place a laid back feeling and make working here so relaxing.  I have one cat at home her name is Zahara she is a purebred bengal and very playful.  She loves to take walks in the park and will play fetch too!

LAURIE

I have worked here for about 16 years.  My responsibilities include office management, bookkeeping, payroll, and getting together with the CPA for the end of the year taxes.  I've always loved animals and even though I don't work with them directly just having them in the work place helps with the stress involved with my work.  My co-workers are always there when I ask and very supportive.  Dr. Allen is a great boss to work for, she always lends a helping hand.  I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and two large fish tanks.  I love my family and every year we go camping.  We all love to fish and hike.  My kids are very active in sports and extracurricular activities.  My husband is a volunteer firefighter for the county so I'm always on the run.

CHRISTY

I have worked in Veterinary Medicine since 1989.  I started as a technician, but now work in the front office for the most part.  I have one perfect poodle and two cats.  I love working with the patients as well as the clients, and the entire staff at Blue Oak is an absolute joy to work with.  During my time away from Blue Oak I like to spend time with my family on the lake, flying and gardening.

KATIE

My name is Katie Taylor and I have worked here for over 8 years now.  During this time I have held several different positions and currently I am the Special Projects Coordinator.  Although I graduated from Lawton College in Palo Alto as an Animal Health Technician, I have spent most of my working life in accounting.  My first love however, has always been to care for animals so I am thrilled to be back working in the veterinary field of medicine.  Because of my love for animals, I currently have six cats, one dog, and seven goats (both pygmy and Nigerian dwarfs).  My five children share my enthusiasm and are very active in the FFA and 4H.

WENDY

I started working in the field of Veterinary Medicine during my senior year of high school.  I was enrolled in R.O.P. Medical, which is a placement program for job trainings.  After graduation I worked to become a Veterinary Technician with many hours of hands on experience and training.  I have worked at a few different veterinary hospitals over the past 8 years and learned everything I know today.  I have worked at Blue Oak Veterinary Hospital since November 2004.  I love everything about this job, my co-workers, the clients and especially the patients.  I have two kitties at home "Roxanne" and "Pepper".  They always keep me laughing.  In my free time I have a second job pet-sitting.  I also play softball in a women's and co-ed league about 4 months out of the year, and I love spending my weekends in San Francisco.

KIM

My name is Kim and I have lived in Amador county for about 18 years.  I had my first job at a veterinary hospital in Las Vegas.  After working there for 4 years I decided to move to Amador county.  I love this area.  My family had a cabin in Pioneer that we would stay in every year.  I have worked at Blue Oak Veterinary Hospital for 12 years.  I enjoy working here because everyone makes my day so much more exciting and stress free.  I love animals and have 1 dog, 7 cats, and 2 horses at home.  My daughter also lives at home with me and is working towards her college education.  I enjoy going 4-wheeling with my boyfriend of 10 years and boating at clear lake with my friends.

RAE

I have been a R.V.T. (Registered Veterinary Technician) since 1987.  I have worked with large and small animals.  I have attended U.C. Davis working on my Bachelor Degree in Wildlife and Conservation Biology.  My future plan is to obtain my Degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  I love being back at Blue Oak Veterinary, It's been over 6 years since I worked here before.  A lot has changed but I feel like I'm right back at home.  I have 4 dogs, 7 cats, 6 horses, and a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium.  I love all my pets and when I'm not taking care of them or my family I like to go water sking, camping with my kids, barrel racing and remodeling my old farm house.
